What is the Dooley Method?

As a mom of 2 and professional home organizer certified in the KonMari Method—where we keep what sparks joy and let go of things with gratitude—I'm intimately familiar with the challenges of maintaining a harmonious home after welcoming children into the fold. Witnessing not only my own struggles but also the families I've had the privilege to assist as clients, I recognized a common thread: the cycle of more kids, more mess, and more conflicts. This recurring pattern underscored the need for a holistic approach that addresses both the organizational aspects of home management and the dynamics of parenting.

Most people don't realize that parenting and organizing skills are learned through generations of habits and often outdated approaches driven by a scarcity and fear mindset. My goal with the Dooley Method is to take you on a transformative journey, to help families take control of their accumulated possessions, creating space for connection, calm, collaboration, creativity, and character-building. Moreover, I aim to motivate family members to purposefully tackle clutter and foster support through practical exercises to create an environment where everyone feels empowered and valued.

The Dooley Method™ represents the culmination of years of learning and practice, rooted in the belief that a tidy home maintained by the whole family offers parents a home and routine where they can feel calm, rejuvenated, and inspired. The method aims to create a sanctuary built on love and understanding, so parents and children can be more present and empathetic to meet their each other's needs - a win win solution. In essence, the Dooley Method is more than just an organizational tool—it's a philosophy of intentional living and mindful parenting.

While parenting challenges can be similar, every family is unique. Unlike band-aid solutions or cookie-cutter approaches, I wanted to create a set of principals grounded in strong foundations that also offers flexibility in personalizing strategies that respect the unique schedules and needs of busy families. What you won't find are chore charts and reward systems, instead strategies and practices that empower both parents and children to cultivate lasting habits of organization and cooperation. It offers a roadmap to not just tidy homes but thriving relationships and a lifetime of cherished memories.

So, are you ready to embark on this transformative journey? Let's organize, parent, and thrive together, one joyful step at a time.
