Organizing Tools for KonMari: Clothing

If you’ve been tidying using the KonMari Method™, you know that you don’t even think about storage until you’ve completed decluttering. But once you are done, you may want to consider adding some joyful finishing touches.

There are many organizing products available that can either help to maintain order or improve the esthetic for your closets and drawers. Being a fan of repurposing, I encourage you to be a conscious shopper and only buy what you love. Thoughtfully choose something that makes your life easier, in high quality, and look for environmentally friendly options.

In the next few weeks, I’ll highlight each of the KonMari categories to recommend some of my favorite organizing tools. Click on the name of each product and it will connect you to the link for purchase. So save this post if you want to reference it later when you are done tidying your clothing.

2.5″ Hight Adjustable Drawer Divider by mDesign

This company called mDesign has a great selection of drawer dividers. They are adjustable by tension. The ones seen here is made from bamboo. The plastic ones come in sand, amber, gray, chocolate, smoke, clear, and white. They are BPA and Chlorine-Free, and Shatter-Resistant. I use these for our t-shirt drawers and a set of clear ones for my refrigerator drawer! Be sure to check the length of your drawer before you buy. These are 17.25″ long.

When you KonMari fold and file your clothes, especially the sock and underwear, your drawer will definitely make you feel happy every time you open it. Screen Shot 2018-09-01 at 3.41.36 PM.png

JOY Huggable Hangers

Although the KonMari Method™ suggests you fold most of your clothing. When it comes to a dress, shirt, or a blouse, I still like to use a hanger.

Remember the Miracle Mop? The woman who invented that, Joy Mangano, is the inventor of the widely copied velvety, light-weight, ultra-slim, space-saving hangers. These have been recommended as the best slim hangers in a 7-months test done by I love that they come in 8 different colors, and has the word “Joy” on it!

Household Essentials 6-Shelf Hanging Organizer – Natural Canvas

If your clothes don’t take up the whole closet, these hanging organizers can serve many purposes to maximize your storage space. It also comes in a 10-shelf and can be used with cedar planks to repel moths. I have 3 of these throughout the house and used them for various things. Some ideas are for the kids’ shoes and bike helmets in the entry closet. Add a basket and you can put the sunscreen, dog leash, and many other small on-the-go accessories. Also in the guest bedroom for extra towels and bedding. At the far end of the closet, you can store winter boots and accessories. When you are short on drawer or cabinet space, this is a very practical and inexpensive option.

Victorinox Set of 2 Packing Cubes

I love these packing cubes! When my husband travels for a week-long trip. He brings one small carry on, and load up these cubes with shirts, underwear, and socks. The rest of the luggage holds pants, jacket, and shoes. For shorter trips, pack all of your clothes in the large cube and toss it in a backpack! It keeps your KonMari folded items neatly in place of a high quality, beautifully designed product.
