Ever since the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Japanese organizing guru Marie Kondo magically came into my life (read about it here), I knew it was the sign I needed to follow my passion, and pursue organizing as a profession.
Starting this blog was the first step. I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I wanted a place to share what I have learned to help others experience positive changes in their own lives. I also wanted to document and organize all of the projects I have done. With your support and comments, I’m also starting a Q&A section to help solve some of your organizational dilemmas.
The second step in pursuing this new career was to register for a 3-day seminar to become a KonMari Consultant. I have already registered to attend at the end of April in Chicago. This is a 7-step process which includes reading Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy, verify that I practice what I preach by sending them photos of my home, attend the seminar, join the consultant-in-training community, conduct a minimum of 50-hour practice sessions with at least 2 different client’s homes and submit reports, an online assessment test, then apply for the certification.
I have already completed the first 2 steps. Here are the images I submitted for my photo verification which were approved.
In the coming months, I will be posting more news updates to share this journey with you. I’m excited to take this next step in starting a career that brings me joy. And I can’t wait to meet Marie Kondo!
I hope reading my post will spark a little joy in your life. Please follow and share.
